Today I went for my first run in Central London. It was rather surreal. I ran across London bridge, down past the gerkin, Along the river Thames, by the tower of London, across the Tower bridge, past the HMS Belfast and Sir Frances Drake boat back to the new flat. It was so weird as I wove my way through a combination of commuters and tourists thinking all the while to my self that I am no longer a tourist! hehe! So funny.
I'm now in the middle of my nursing induction at Guys and St Thomas' or as it is referred to as GSTT (for all future references). It is a mixture between boredom and interesting facts. I think that the fact that I only recently went through a VERY similar induction at Mayday makes it that much harder for me to sit still. The Flat here is pretty much the same as the last flat...so not sure that I'll post pictures as there really isn't that much that is different! I look out my window to a TREE (Which as central London goes is a pretty FABULOUS view!) further in the background I can see the tower of Guysand off to one coner the skeleton of the new "Shard" building! Which means my continual backgound noise is a combination of seagulls, piegons, and construction noise. My one newphew would be VERY pleased that I still have a "Lofty" out my window...the highlight of visiting my condo in Calgary! hehe!!
Anyways maybe next week I'll get brave and take a few photos of the views near my new workplace and my new flat.... we will see.
A collection of personal adventures that include but are not limited to: worldwide travel, cooking, baking, gardening, Canadian ex-pat experience, health issues, running, and events in life as a woman!

New Job...yet Again
I know I know it has been a while. It is now my hope with the changes in my career pattern that I will hopefully do a better job with the blog again. So what is the Career change...
Well,
I am now an employee at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust! I know that may come as a surprise seeing as I hadn't been long at my last post, but this job is SO much better suited to me...or at least is seems so at the beginning of it all. Without going into the details (check inbox within the week...hopefully) I am now a Clinical Research Nurse for the Biomedical Research Centre. What exactly that entails I am not sure yet...hehe. It is a newly developed position in a facility that has it's grand opening today! It is all very exciting.
In terms of my life it now means that I am a 9-5er and no longer work weekends or nights!! I really could not be more excited than that! It also means that I now am living in hospital accommodation in the Centre of London, a short walk from the tower bridge!! How cool is that! One of the offices that I will be working out of has a fabulous view of Big Ben and I walk by the London eye! hehe!! I am having many pinch me moments! I know too many exclamation marks. But I can't help it I am excited. It also means that I am closer to Mark which is also nice.
Anyways that is the short version watch this space for more...and watch your inbox for an update to my address.
