hey all
I am in Arilie beach! WE leave tomorrow for a sailing trip of the whitsundays and the great barrier reef. I am VERY excited!! I am unable to post pictures as there is no wireless internet and I don't have the proper cable SO I'll will have to catch up with photos later. I will be out of touch for the next 3 days/3nights. Then we return here before heading up to Cairns it is going to be a fun road trip with the girls. The past few days have been amazing so I can only imagine how much better it will get.

Catching up
So my plan to see the town of Alice springs was blown out of the water due to a captive audience. What do I mean...it cost $30 to get a taxi from the airport to the town 15km away. So seeing as I don't want to pay that kind of money. I'll get more pictures posted online of my adventures. They will NOT be in order and I'll just post slide shows. I hope that this will give you a bit of a picture of the adventures I have been up to. Sorry if it confuses you because it is NOT in order. But I have over 1600 photos I am trying to manage and the number grows daily!!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! Had a lovely Aussie Easter. I went to church on Good Friday as well as Easter Sunday as there were special services. But then as is tradition in Oz. I also had a beautiful BBQ on the beach. We grilled up veggies and other yummys. Chatting away with Tara, Leanne, Jes, and Tara's friend Julllian (Who I hope will forgive if I spelt his name wrong). It was great. The fact that the sun got hidden by the clouds as we actually left the BBQ area and went to the sandy bit of the beach wasn't even a bad thing. But we did start walking as a light drizzle began to fall. I need to head to bed as a long day awaits me tomorrow. Fourth last day!! Which is why I am posting. I will be soon headed out for adventures travelling through Australia. I will try and post Sydney pictures and shore a few more of those adventures. But I am not going to try and catch up on all the details as that will take forever!! So in the interest of keeping up to date I will not be filling in all the gaps. It just means that you will have to come visit me (or I to you) to see all my hundreds of photos. hehe!!
Happy Easter!

First Full Oz Day
These structures are just that...only buildings but nonetheless there are fairly impressive. It is easy to see how they have become quite iconic in nature. The next four pictures of a friendly spider, Cockatoos, and a weird flower I saw in the Royal Botanical Gardens
Oh I nearly forgot in Circular Quay there was also this random sculpture of an woman made from real peaches. How funny it that!

Flight to Aus

First view of Sydney bridge and Opera house
As we got closer the piolet announced that the weather was no good. Which was a bit consouling as due to my seat I knew I wasn't going to get a good view flying in. But I got a surprise and I did get a sneak peak of the two most famous landmarks in sydney. So I was pretty happy about that.

"My" plane
The airport and customs was pretty much typical. and after long lines with cranky tired jet lagged tourist and locals I was set free onto Australian soil. If I was SO exhausted I would have been stupid excited. hehe!! With a little help from the information ladies and friendly locals I got the right bus and told the driver to please let me know when we got to the Price of Wales Hospital. Unfortunaley he did not understand/forgot about me. So I got dropped off two stops past mine. Which in Sydney is a considerable walk. So I made quite the entrance in to the hospital. Barely walking after lugging my three bags (a backpack, carry on, and a soft suitcase weighing over 25kilos!) I stumbled into the hospital entrance, panting asking how much further I had to go to get to the residence...Unfortunaltey it was a ways SO I asked if the kind woman would watch my 25+kilo bag while I got the rest of my stuff to the Rez. After a bit of shuttling back and forth I crashed on my bed settling my alarm for one hour. I wanted to make sure I would sleep that night.

Coogee Beach
So I think the flight affected my sense of direction as the ten mintue walk to the beach took me over and hour. hehe! But I found it at last and it was beautiful!!! I stayed there for a few hours wandering about just loving being my the sea. you know how sometimes even though you are miles and miles away from home and yet you know you are where you belong. That was me. I was by the sea and the sreaming in my viens to be near salt water quited to a contented purr. The surf was pretty big with I would guess over 1.5 meter waves.

Cliff's at Coogee Beach
The sun was out and the Austrailian sand stone gleamed. I watched crabs scramble and tourist like me take pictures while locals surfed and body boarded. So amazing. But soon my tummy was rumbling and having no food or any clue where to get food I left the beach behind with a promise to return soon!!

Happy on the beach!
Food was pretty easy to locate and soon I was sitting in the common room eating and making new friends. We all went out for a bit that night. Getting to know one another and somehow I managed to stay awake until 10pm at which time I surrendered to sleep with plans to hang out with one of the girls I had met to explore the next day! If this was any indication of my adventures I knew I was in for a GREAT trip!

Getting to the land Down Under
My flight had a purposely planned stop in LA. What I wasn't expecting was to through my great friend Eve get to meet new friends while simulataniously exploring LA. I had a pretty amazing 24 hours. Thanks to Dung (pronounced Yung-with a soft "g"), Sarah, and Andrew for showing me LA as well as putting up with me. You guys are amazing!
First I had to arrange for my baggage to stay in the airport. So after a chat with a VERY kind information booth lady who lent me her phone I arranged to have a guy named Pedro in a white van pick up my bag. hehe!! It seemed a bit sketchy, but with a quick prayer and a surrender of my material goods I hoped I would see my bag again. I hopped on the Flyaway to Westwood.

LA Airport
The first night was pretty relaxed Dugn, Andrew and I headed to Santa Monica Blvd. for a wander about and some half price Sushi!! Very yummy!! I loved being in a hummideifed warm climate again!!! Not to mention warm despite the locals who were dressed in Parkas and wooly boots (NO LIE!). Soon it was time for bed (after a good get to know you chat with Dung.

Santa Monica Blvd. at night
The next morning Sarah (Dung's roomate) who is also a nurse aggreed to wander the town with me. Afeter a bit of a walk down to Santa Monica Blvd (at least 45 min) we caught the bus and for 1.25 we were wisked to Vine were we walked another 30 min to Hollywood.

Grauman Chinese Theatre
There I saw lots of "stars" from Elvis to Shrek! Even super man made an apperance!! I made the photo stop and the various theaters (kodak and Grauman) plus did an exbit of "REAL" oscars!! That exbit summed up the LA experience. Advertised as REAL I think the ratio of real to fake was 5:27 SO funny.

My REAL Oscar! (Well real for LA)
Our (Sarah and I) Oscar for best and fasted tour of LA. Saw three main areas in LA not too bad for under 24 hours! Oh and I can't forget the Hollywood sign.
I think the Photo speaks for itself! (the Hollywood sign in case you can't figure itout)

Venice Beach Sunset (I paid extra for the helicopter to be in the photo)
Then we re-walked all the distance to get Sarah's car to pick up Dung and head to Venice. WE tried to have Andrew join us but the traffic was to much of a gamble if I was going to make it to the airport on time. After a sunset walk on Venice beach the three of us enjoyed a beautiful dinner and C&O's.
Dinner at C&O's
Once again I thank you both for sahring that time with me. and for helping me in my tour of LA! Then it was back to the airpot where the faithful Pedro in the white van showed up with my bag!! It was an amazing start to what is turning out to be an amazing adventure!

Happy New Year!

I have decided NOT to make any New Years resolutions this year. I just made a bunch of "resolutions" in september...which for me feels more like the New Year as it is the begining of the new school year. So instead I am just going to continue to keep working on the resolutions that I made in September.
I hope that you all had an amazing night last evening and I wish you all the BEST in the New Year. I hope that you are looking forward to each day this year has and trying to live each day to its fullest!
